The Services Team is responsible for building our core platform which consists of APIs used by both internally & externally interacting parties. They build these services using Python/FastAPI/PostgreSQL Kafka etcetera

They seem to want someone in this role regardless of whether they are managing engineers or not - everyone reports up through them so it's likely somebody with strong influencing skills will do best here anyway.


You will be responsible for making sure this department has all the right people, and their needs are met. You'll also have a hand in techy things like optimizing processes so that everything runs smoothly!

You've got your work cut out for you: managing employees' time correctly; handling payroll issues efficiently (and paying those taxes at week's end); training new hires on how to do their jobs successfully.

  • You’ll work with the C-suite to give input on new initiatives. You'll lead technical delivery in your team, contributing to and executing upon our tech vision while working closely with product managers & designers across engineering leadership teams. That means prioritizing what needs to be done right away so it can get done faster or finding ways for others' tasks are easier by themselves through collaboration between groups - all under an umbrella of sound architecture that's efficient too!
  • You’ll be the team's champion for continuous improvement, helping engineers remove obstacles and optimize development processes. You'll provide them with a clear vision of what needs to be done while mentoring new technologies so they can lead their engineering groups effectively!
  • You’ll be an integral part of the team, coaching and helping your fellow engineers grow personally and professionally. You can do this through regular 1on1s with feedback/reviews on their progress towards goals set out for them by management; goal-setting sessions where you work together to plan future career development planning for yourself or any other teammates who need it most at that time (and lots more!). As well as being actively involved across all areas - engineering managing technical tasks from start to finish while staying up to date on new technology trends happening outside our walls too!

You're a creative problem-solver with an eye for detail and the wherewithal to bring clarity. You love working in ambiguity, but your communication skills are what set you apart from others - be ready to share those strategies!

Understanding the dynamics of a remote team

Working as a team in an environment where everyone's location is different can be challenging. It requires extra effort and coordination to ensure that all members of the group are on top of what’s happening across time zones, not just those who work near each other at any given moment which leads us to some interesting challenges!

Good command of English

We are an international team that communicates primarily through Slack. We need to be able to communicate in clear written English because we often jump on calls, both audio and video formats which require excellent comprehension skills as well.


Laterpay is a distributed team of people from around the world, working together to make an incredible product. We have offices in Europe and North America so you can work with us no matter where your time zone happens to fall! Our days don't all align at 9 am EST but we do try our best not to be too synchronous or asynchronous - just enough sync for things to go smoothly between ourselves as developers on different sides of projects who need access to others’ expertise when they're stuck without answers themselves
