We’ve been a fully remote, fully distributed organization before it was even cool! Our remote-first culture is something we’re proud of. Slack is our office, Jira provides transparency and organizes work, and we collaborate in real-time via videos. We also probably play Among Us a bit too much. If you’re interested in the role, but maybe don’t meet all of the criteria, we’d still encourage you to apply. Growth is continuous and we’re committed to helping you grow at Laterpay.
If you love solving engineering challenges, have an empathetic approach to leadership, and can grow high-performing teams to deliver technical solutions for both internal development or external integration projects then we want to talk! The Services Team is responsible for building our core platform which consists of APIs used by both internally & externally interacting parties. They build these services using Python/FastAPI/PostgreSQL Kafka etcetera
The job posting reads “A great opportunity for an remote engineering manager who can lead people well!”, but the company is looking at overall leadership qualities. They seem to want someone in this role regardless of whether they are managing engineers or not - everyone reports up through them so it's likely somebody with strong influencing skills will do best here anyway.
You will be responsible for making sure this department has all the right people, and their needs are met. You'll also have a hand in techy things like optimizing processes so that everything runs smoothly!
You've got your work cut out for you: managing employees' time correctly; handling payroll issues efficiently (and paying those taxes at week's end); training new hires on how to do their jobs successfully.
The best thing about this company is that we fully believe in people and their needs. Our top priority at all times should be to help our valued employees grow, learn new skills, or develop existing ones even further - both personally & professionally. If you have a knack for helping others succeed because of your caring nature then come work with us! We need enthusiastic coaches who will coach teams into being awesome every day while also mentoring newcomers coming through our doors eager-eyed on what success could mean not only monetarily but mentally too.
You have a command of the different situations, people, or environments you lead. Whether it's collaborating with others to find creative solutions for challenging problems; mentoring those younger than yourself so they can learn from your experience too! Or if things are more urgent and time-sensitive. You're up for making decisions quickly without hesitation because that’s just what leaders do best
You understand exactly how each type of situation should be handled as their leader: whether it's leading by example when teaching newbies about teamwork through working hard alongside them on various projects over years-long timelines
You're a creative problem-solver with an eye for detail and the wherewithal to bring clarity. You love working in ambiguity, but your communication skills are what set you apart from others - be ready to share those strategies!
Understanding the dynamics of a remote team
Working as a team in an environment where everyone's location is different can be challenging. It requires extra effort and coordination to ensure that all members of the group are on top of what’s happening across time zones, not just those who work near each other at any given moment which leads us to some interesting challenges!
Good command of English
We are an international team that communicates primarily through Slack. We need to be able to communicate in clear written English because we often jump on calls, both audio and video formats which require excellent comprehension skills as well.
Laterpay is a distributed team of people from around the world, working together to make an incredible product. We have offices in Europe and North America so you can work with us no matter where your time zone happens to fall! Our days don't all align at 9 am EST but we do try our best not to be too synchronous or asynchronous - just enough sync for things to go smoothly between ourselves as developers on different sides of projects who need access to others’ expertise when they're stuck without answers themselves
A few months ago I started getting emails about this company called LaterPay which seemed cool because it sounded like something none other companies were doing: solving problems faced by business owners while also committing resources towards employee growth.
Our values are:
Hooray for diversity! It's not just the right thing to do, it ensures we build a product that works for and appeals to an audience of people from all walks of life. We love having employees with different backgrounds because they help make Scrappers Builders unique in more ways than one - our diverse team members come up with innovative ideas while working on projects both big (like developing new products) or small (like fixing bugs).
