The Eclipse IDE Client will only prompt the user to send an error report if the configured Codetrails Error Analytics server is interested in it. To this effect, the Eclipse IDE Client automatically discovers the set of plug-ins and products for which the server accepts submissions. Moreover, the client also discovers the server’s preference with respect to certain kinds of errors like third-party errors or UI freezes. Finally, certain errors, like those caused by bad network connectivity on the user’s side, can be ignored entirely.
Thus, configuration auto-discovery ensures that a user is bothered with an error notification only if the developers are actually interested in receiving reports for the error.
